The court determines bail amount and our bail bond agency can help supply the money needed to post bail. There are a few different types of bail bonds.
Own recognizance also sometimes referred as a personal appearance bond is one in which the Judge takes your word that you will appear in court and releases you until your next court date. They are rare and are usually given to someone who is a first time offender of minor offenses.
Cash Bond is one in which you pay the amount of the bond in cash to the jail or a money order directly to the court clerk’s office. Cash bond money may be by used by the courts to pay fines if found guilty but the balance may be returned to you when your case is done. In Wyoming, cash bonds may not be returned if the accused violates a condition of a bond set by the judge. In addition, Wyoming can set cash only bonds for any charge but Idaho can only set cash only bods for unpaid fines or child support.
Surety Bond is what Teton Bail Bonds specializes in, for a fee, usually 10% +$35; Teton Bail Bonds issues an insurance policy to the courts. Bail Bond agencies and agents are required be licensed and approved by the state in order to post bonds. If the accused fails to appear Teton Bail bonds returns the accused to court or pays the full bond amount. This is the most commonly used method of Bail.
Property bonds require a lawyer and may require one who specializes in property or land disputes. Property must be of value to cover the amount of the bond and must be approved by the Judge. The courts may seize the defendant’s property if the defendant fails to appear in court. This is not used very often due to the time it takes to assess the property, cost to have the lawyer write up the property bond, file the motion to the Judge and get it approved. If you own your land free and clear of any liens this may be a rout, you can chose for your loved one.
